"We'll announce it once it's official" - Arteta provides transfer update on future of Folarin Balogun

The future of young Folarin Balogun has been in the news in the past few months.

It's been gathered that the Arsenal's academy graduate is yet to sign a new deal with the club.

This has prompted several Premier League clubs to stay on alert for the services of Folarin.

Although, the striker is unable to find a spot in Mikel Arteta's team due to some senior players presence.

But Mikel Arteta has always expressed his intention to keep Folarin at the Emirates stadium as he sees the youngster as a future player.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will travel to face Slavia Prague in the second leg quarter final Europa League game on Thursday. 
And 
Although, Folarin was included in Arsenal's Europa League squad but it's uncertain whether Arteta will include him in the squad to travel.
But during his press conference this afternoon, coach Arteta stated that there is no contract offered to Folarin but hopes he will stay.

On Folarin Balogun's reported new contract, Arteta said: 
"We're going to make it official when it's official and everything is done, but as I said before I was being very positive that he wants to stay at the club. We want him to stay at the club so we are very close."

Folarin Balogun has scored two goals in the Europa League this season during the group stage for Arsenal.

On whether Balogun will stay with the squad next season or go on loan, Arteta said: 
"First of all we have to sign him! Once we sign him, we go step-by-step and we'll communicate with you guys on what we're doing."
