David De Gea breaks silence following his penalty miss against Villarreal in Europa final

Manchester United were defeated in the final of the Europa League. The Red Devils lost to Villarreal following a penalty shoot out which ended 11-10 in favour of Unai Emery’s side. 
Villarreal that took an early lead after 26 minutes, Gerard Moreno scored from a set piece. But Manchester United got their equaliser from Edinson Cavani after 56 minutes in the second half of the game. 

The game was decided through a penalty shoot out after both teams played 1-1 draw after 120 minutes. 

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea missed the only spot kick and handed Villarreal their first European title and the fourth Europa League title for Unai Emery. 

Following his penalty miss, the Spainish goalkeeper has taken to his social media space to address his fans. 

David De Gea posted a snap of the moment he was being consoled by their former manager Alex Ferguson who traveled with the team. 

Sharing the photo on his Twitter, he captioned:

"To fall and rise. Learn from the experience, fight again and win. @ManUtd
 Thanks for your support"
