La Liga: Benzema and Modric goals deny Villarreal Europa League ticket as Real Madrid claim 2-1 win (Highlights) 2020-2021

Real Madrid record a 2-1 comeback win over Villarreal, but their LaLiga title bid falls short as Atletico Madrid beat Real Valladolid to claim the crown. Los Blancos were up against it this afternoon, needing their rivals to slip up. 

Villarreal stunned Zinedine Zidane's men by taking the lead through Yeremi Pino. It took the home side until the 87th minute to respond through Karim Benzema with a stunning effort. The Frenchman then turned provider for Luka Modric to snatch the three points in stoppage time with a fine goal on the half-volley. However, Madrid miss out on the title by two points and end the campaign without silverware.

 Villarreal failed to qualify for the Europa League through LaLiga, although they turn their attention to the Europa League final next week to attempt to earn a Champions League place.
