Former Manchester United star is not expected to play in the up coming European competition in the summer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a revelation since he moved to Serie A last year. If you recall that Ibrahimovic joined AC Milan as a free agent after his deal with LA Galaxy ended and he decided to leave the MLS in the United States of America last year.
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward returned to AC Milan which was a familiar territory for him. The Swedish international has been inspirational to the Rossoneri as they hope to return to the UEFA Champions League next season.
Just so you know, AC Milan are currently in third position in the league, but they might have to finish the remaining games of the season without Ibrahimovic.
It's been gathered that the Swedish international has been ruled out due to a knee injury.
Earlier today, Sweden coach Janne Anderson has also confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be available for their Euro 2020 campaign.
It's been gathered that the forward will require a surgery which will make him unavailable as he will be recuperating ahead of the next season.
While confirming the reports, Sweden coach Andersson said: “I spoke to Zlatan Ibrahimovic today, who unfortunately told me his injury will prevent his participation in the European Championship this summer.
“Of course it is sad, especially for Zlatan, but for us too. I hope that he is back on the pitch again as soon as possible.”
Recall that Zlatan Ibrahimovic made the decision to return to the national team after his retirement years ago.
Although, Sweden will have to plan without their top striker ahead of their opening Euro 2020 match against Spain on June 14.
