Portugal were preparing for their opening game against Hungary while addressing the media. The camera spotted the moment Ronaldo moved the fizzy drinks away and he lifted a bottle of water and said "drink water."
Meanwhile the brand has insisted that 'everyone is entitled to their drink preferences' following a statement from their representative. Coca-Cola are the official sponsors the European tournament.
'Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences,' a spokesman added.
The 36-year-old scored a brace in the game as Portugal defeated Hungary 3-0. Ronaldo converted from the penalty spot in the 86 minutes after Guerreiro's shot had given the defending champions the lead three minutes earlier.
Ronaldo added the third in the stoppage time to ensure that Portugal record a comfortable win on their opening game.
