Real Madrid have finally confirm the future of their captain Sergio Ramos. The Spanish defender future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been uncertain in recent weeks after Daily Mail Online reported he will not be handed a new contract.
Sergio Ramos contract with Real Madrid will end on June 30th and the club has confirmed that the defender will leave the club after 16 years.

Last season, Real Madrid finished in second place after they lost the league title to Atletico Madrid on the final day of the season.

Although Ramos didn't feature in a lot of games in the second half of the season due to injuries and Covid-19.

Following a statement released by Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos will appear at the Ciudad Deportivo on Thursday afternoon to address the media in a press conference.

The statement added that, "his contract due to expire on June 30. No extension has been agreed between player and club."

Real Madrid also confirmed that Sergio Ramos was offered one year deal with a 10 percent reduction in salary, but he was looking for at least a two year contract.

Sergio Ramos made 671 appearances and scored a total 101 goals during his 16 years spell at Real Madrid. He won 5 La Liga titles, 4 Champions League trophies, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, 4 Spanish Super Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, and 4 FIFA Club World Cups.

Apparently, popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Sergio Ramos will not return to his boyhood club, Sevilla.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: "Sergio Ramos will NOT join Sevilla. It’s never been an option, they’re not interested in Ramos and the comeback is not even considered. He’s in talks with another club, not Sevilla."
