19 Years Old Goalie Arthur Okonkwo had signed first professional contract with Arsenal

Arsenal fans were excited after their club announced their first signing ahead of the 2021-2022 season. Recall that the Gunners finished in eight position in the Premier League last season. Arsenal will not play any European competition in the 2021-2022 season.

Arsenal football club got the attention of their fans after they signed 19 years-old goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo. 

The north London club confirmed that the talented goalkeeper has signed a long-term contract with the club.

Arthur Okonkwo is a product of the Arsenal academy. He joined the Gunners under age team at the age of nine. Arthur made his Premier League 2 debut in 2018 at age 17. 

The club has been monitoring the young goalkeeper progress. He made eight appearances at youth level in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy last season.

Arthur Okonkwo posed for photograph while he was signing the contract. He was pictured along with his manager Mikel Arteta and technical director, Edu. 

The club had confirmed that Arthur will wear the jersey number 33.
