Ex Man City Nigel De Jong loses his grandmother

Former Netherlands international Nigel De Jong has taken to his social media space to express sadness following the death of his grandmother. 

The former AC Milan and Manchester City star lost his mother on Sunday, July 25th 2021. 

He took to his verified Instagram page (@nigeldejong) this Monday morning (July 2021) with the caption:

"Received the sad news this morning of the peaceful passing of our grandmother.

Words can’t express what she ment to me and my family. She graced us with so much love, being the life of the party and always gave her grandchildren a reason to smile!

Such a rock of a woman.

You will be missed, but will be forever in our hearts.

To my 2nd mother,

Will 4ever love you
