Liverpool lost to Hertha Berlin in Austria on Thursday evening, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back in the squad.

The Reds have been on tour in Austria for their pre-season games. Jurgen Klopp sóde faced the Bundesliga side at the Tivoli Stadium in Tirol.



Hertha Berlin opened scoring from  incoming cross from a free-kick, and was headed into the net by Santiago Ascacibar after 21 minutes.

Hertha doubled their lead 10 minutes later when midfielder Suat Serdar made a driving run into the box and rifled an absolutely superb strike from a tight angle.
But Sadio Mane netted to reduce the deficit six minutes later and then  Minamino connected to Mohamed Salah pass as he finish with a lovely backheel just before half time. 

In the second half, the German side who re-took the lead against the run of play when Stevan Jovetic was given all the room six yards out to head past Adrian.
With twenty minutes left to play, the fourth goal came after Van Dijk who was bundled off the ball impressively Jovetić to slot home his second and double Hertha’s lead.

Oxlade-Chamberlain volleyed home shortly before full time after Van Dijk had shown his presence in the attacking box.
