Arsenal have completed their first signing ahead of the 2021-2022 season. The Gunners have been active this transfer window following their disappointing performance last season. Recall that Arsenal finished in eight position in the Premier League table last season.
Earlier today (Saturday July 10th 2021), Arsenal confirmed the signing of Nuno Tavares. The full back has joined the club for €8m. He has signed five years deal will is expected to run until June 2026.
Nuno Tavares will wear the number 20 shirt. He posed with his Arsenal shirt during his unveiling this Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year-old defender is an academy product of Portugese club, Benfica. He made his debut for the youth team in October 2018 and a year later he was promoted into the senior team.
Nuno has made 25 appearances for Benfica since 2019.
The full back posed for picture with the coach Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu. He is expected to be named in Arsenal's pre-season tour which will kick off on 13th of July 2021.
