Patrick Vieira has replaced Roy Hodgson who left his role as manager of the Premier League club last season.
Recall that Roy Hodgson guided Palace to 14th position in the Premier League table last season.
The former Arsenal captain has signed a three-year contract with the Eagles.
Vieira has taken to his verified Instagram page @officialpatrickvieira to express his delight after he was appointed manager of the London based club.
He captioned: "Proud and excited to be part of this new journey. I want to thank the @cpfc board for their trust, and thank the fans for the amount of support I've been getting for the past few days. I can't wait to see you all there, back where it all started @premierleague. Come on you Eagles 🦅💙❤️"
Recall that Viera previously managed Major League Soccer side New York City in 2011.
He spent two seasons with the club before he moved to France. The 45 years old was sacked by French club Nice in December 2020.
Viera won seven trophies during his nine years as a player at Arsenal between 1996 and 2005. He joined Manchester City in January 2010, after he retired at the end of the season after he won the FA Cup Trophy.
