Arsenal are set to kick off their 2021-2022 Premier League season on Friday night. The Gunners will travel to Brentford stadium to face the newly promoted championship side.
Recall that Mikel Arteta side ended the 2020-21 season in eight position due to several disappointing performances during the season.
Arsenal have completed three signings ahead of the forthcoming season, Nuno Tavares has joined from Benfica, Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht and Benjamin White joined from Brighton Hove Albion.
Arsenal's opening game against Brentford is expected to kick off at 8pm GMT. The Gunners will be without their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international has been absent from training for the past two days. Goal reported that the former Borussia Dortmund star will ne unavailable for the game on Friday night.
Aubameyang has been struggling to rediscover his goal "scoring form" since he signed new contract. Aubameyang played all Arsenal's pre-season games and he was unable to score a goal.
Recall that Aubameyang managed to score 15 goals in 39 appearances for the north London side last season.
