Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku has been handed jersey number 9

Thomas Tuchel side have started the new Premier League season with a victory against Crystal Palace last weekend. The Blues defeated the Eagles 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Recall that Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard at Chelsea early this year. The former Paris Saint-Germain manager defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League last season.

Tuchel has finally signed his first player for Chelsea. The German tactician has signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan. Lukaku completed his record transfer worth £97.5m to the Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old striker has completed his quarantine and was spotted in training on Tuesday afternoon. The former Manchester United and Everton star has been handed jersey number 9. 

Chelsea's jersey number 9 was previously worn by Fernando Torres, Andriy Shevchenko, and recently Tammy Abraham. 

Chelsea introduced Romelu Lukaku jersey number to the fans this afternoon. He posed for the camera with the Blues home kit.  Lukaku is expected to be fit for Chelsea’s trip to Arsenal this Sunday.
