Jordan Brian Henderson is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Liverpool and the England national team.
On Tuesday (August 31st 2021) afternoon, the Reds announced that Jordan Henderson has signed a new four-year contract. Recall that the former Sunderland star had two years remaining on his previous deal but has now extended his stay at the club until the summer of 2025.
Henderson is a product of Sunderland Academy, he joined the club at the age of eight, and he made first-team debut in November 2008.
Jordan spent three years at the Stadium of Light before he moved to Liverpool. The Reds signed him in 2011 and became Liverpool's captain in 2015. The 31-year-old has made 394 appearances for Liverpool since his arrival.
Henderson has won the Premier League, Champions League and the League Cup with Liverpool.
The England international took to his verified Instagram page (@jhenderson) to express excitement after he signed the deal. He captioned the post: "An incredible journey continues… Thank you to all the fans for your support 🤝 @liverpoolfc."
Meanwhile, Liverpool have extended contracts of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson this summer.
