The European governing body for football has released the nominees list for the 2020-21 UEFA awards.
Earlier today, UEFA announced the names of the nominees shortlisted for the 2020/21 UEFA Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year Awards.
UEFA Men's Player Of The Year
In this category, the UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea dominated the shortlist.
Recall that the Blues defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League trophy last season. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minutes.
Chelsea's Jorginho and N'Golo Kante will face competition from Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne who guided City to win the Premier League title.

UEFA Men's Coach Of The Year:
Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has made the nominees for this category. The German tactician lifted his silverware with the Blues last season.
Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard who was sacked in January due to poor performances. The former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund boss will face competition from Pep Guardiola who guided Manchester City to Premier League and League Cup triumph. Also, Roberto Mancini made the list after he guided Italy to clinch the 2020 European Championship.
The three coaches who made the Shortlist include:
*Josep GUARDIOLA (Spain – Manchester City FC)
*Roberto MANCINI (Italy – Italian men’s national team)
*Thomas TUCHEL (Germany – Chelsea FC)
Other award shortlist included the women's player of the year and women's coach of the year.
Barcelona's Femeni dominated the women's player of the year. The Spanish side claimed the women's UEFA Champions League trophy as well as domestic title.

UEFA will announce the award winners at the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw ceremony on Thursday 26 August at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul, Turkey.
