First-half-time goals from Dennis and Sarr, before Hernandez made it three in the second period. McGinn pulled one back for the visitors on 70 minutes, before Danny Ings who recently joined the club converted from the penalty spot. However, Watford managed to hold on and clinch all three points.
Next up for Watford is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion next weekend, meanwhile Villa face Newcastle United at Villa Park.
