Romelu Lukaku have completed club record fee of £97.5m to Chelsea from Inter Milan

Chelsea football club have completed their first signing ahead of the 2021-2022 season. Recall that Thomas Tuchel side lifted the UEFA Super Cup after they defeated Villarreal last night.

The Blues took the lead after 22 minutes, Hakim Ziyech connected to a cross from Kai Havertz to tap the ball into the net. The Moroccan international was forced off few minutes later after he dislocated his shoulder.

In the second half, Gerard Moreno scored the equaliser for Villarreal to extend the game to penalty. Chelsea lifted the trophy after Kepa Arrizabalaga saved the last penalty of the game. 

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel have confirmed the arrival of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international has returned to the club for the second time. Chelsea completed the deal for Lukaku for a transfer fee worth £97.5m. 

The 28-year-old has completed long term deal with the Blues from Inter Milan. Recall that he guided Inter Milan to win the Serie A title last season. 

After he completed his medial this afternoon, Lukaku said: “I’m happy, blessed to be back at this wonderful club. I have supported Chelsea as a kid. The way the club is going fits my ambitions perfectly and just coming off winning Serie A. This opportunity comes at the right time and we can have a lot of success together”

Recall that Lukaku joined Chelsea in 2011 from Anderlecht. He previously played for Premier League clubs (Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United).
