Three Little Birds: Ajax Third Kit Pays Tribute To Reggae Legend Bob Marley (Photos)

Dutch club, Ajax have released their collaboration with the Bob Marley family. The newly created kit for the 2021/2022 is Ajax third kit which pays tribute to the Ajax fans and late reggae legend Bob Marley. 

The black kit features red, yellow and green details, the back of the jersey features a subtle reference to the iconic song, with three little birds sitting on Amsterdam’s Andreas crosses. 

Recall that Bob Marley and Ajax connection started in August 2008, when Ajax played a friendly match in Cardiff, against Cardiff City F.C. The Ajax fans were asked to remain in the stands after the game while the DJ played several tracks, one of which was Three Little Birds by Bob Marley. 

The song has since been adopted by the club and fans as their theme song. The kit will be worn in this season’s European matches, alongside Ajax’ home kit.
