UEFA Awards: Haaland voted best forward, Kante Best midfielder and Dias scoops best defender

Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has been voted the forward of the year. The Norway international is one of the most sort after stars in Europe. Haaland finished the competition as top scorer of the UEFA Champions League. 

Haaland scooped the award ahead of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé. 

Meanwhile, N'Golo Kante has been named the midfielder of the year. The French star enjoyed a great campaign with the Blues. Kante guided Chelsea to win the UEFA Champions League trophy with his "Man of the match" award. 

Kante finished top of ahead of Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne, Jorginho and  Ilkay Gündogan. 

Manchester City star Ruben Dias has been voted the best defender. The Portugal international has integrated himself into Pep Guardiola team since he arrived last season from Benfica. 

Ruben Dias finished ahead of Chelsea defenders Antonio Rüdiger and César Azpilicueta. 

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been voted the best goalkeeper of the year. The Senegal international has been able to displace Kepa Arrizabalaga since he arrived at Stamford Bridge from Rennes last year. 

Kepa scooped the award ahead of Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois and Manchester City's Ederson.
