Portuguese international set a new record on Wednesday following his brace against Republic of Ireland. Portugal hosted the Republic of Ireland in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Manchester United striker scored twice in the second half to record 2-1 win for his side. 
Cristiano Ronaldo is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and Portugal national team. 

The 36-year-old scored two headers in the 89th and 90th minutes to cancel John Egan first half time. 


Cristiano Ronaldo became the top international scorer with a total of 111 international goals for Portugal. The former Real Madrid has overcome Ali Daei as international football's record goalscorer.

Ronaldo has been presented with his plague by the Guinness World Records on Friday (September 3rd 2021). 

Manchester United star took to his verified Instagram page (@cristiano) to express his excitement and appreciation. He captioned the post: "Thank you to the Guiness World Records. Always good to be recognized as a world record breaker. Let’s keep trying to set the numbers even higher!💪🏽"

Meanwhile, Manchester United have confirmed Ronaldo will wear jersey number 7. The 36-year-old joined thr Red Devils on two years deal from Juventus this summer window.
