Willian only managed to score one goal and assisted five times in 37 games across all competitions in the 2020-2021.

The former Chelsea star agreed to terminate his contract with Arsenal and he has signed two years deal with Brazilian club, Corinthians.

'I really thought a lot, together with my family and close people. Unfortunately, my time at Arsenal was not good, I wasn't happy at the club,' Willian told TV Corinthians.

'I don't need to go into details, but I wasn't happy and I thought that returning to Brazil was the best option.'

Willian has been handed jersey number 10 at Corinthians. He was spotted in training as he continues to build his fitness ahead of his debut for his boyhood club.

He added: 'I studied some other opportunities, but I wanted to return to Corinthians, to my home, to be close to my family. It's the club that projected me to the world, revealed me. The right time to come back was this.'

Willian played eight seasons in England with Chelsea and Arsenal. He won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup crown, and the 2018-19 Europa League with Chelsea.
