Manchester City demolished League one side Wycombe 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night. The Citizens started their league Cup defense on a high as they dominated the game.
Pep Guardiola handed a lot of their academy youngsters their opportunities on the night while Kevin De Bruyne, Sterling, Mahrez and Foden were also involved.
Although League One Wycombe Wanderers gave City a fright by taking the lead after 22 minutes but this ended as expected when City stepped up their game.
Goals from de Bruyne, Foden, Torres, the subsitute Palmer and two from Mahrez, saw City breeze past the Wanderers and re-stamp their authority on a cup competition that they are looking to win for an unprecedented fifth successive time.
