Chelsea star had been ruled out of their weekend clash against Manchester City. The Blues are currently on top of the Premier League table winning four games with only one draw against Liverpool.
The Blues face Manchester City in the early kick off on Saturday afternoon, the game is expected to kick off at 12:30pm GMT.
‘It’s too soon,’ Tuchel said. ‘He’s made huge progress but it’s not enough to be ready for 12.30 tomorrow.
Chelsea sealed their round four ticket after they defeated Aston Villa in a penalty shoot out after 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
Thomas Tuchel added that Christian Pulisic will also miss Saturday’s clash with title rivals Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are hopeful that Eduardo Mendy will be available to face City. The goalkeeper returns from injury and will replace Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge.
Mendy missed the 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last week as well as Aston Villa win in the league Cup.
