The Manchester United academy graduate received his honorary doctorate from The University of Manchester on Thursday 7 October 2021. He was receive his award from the University of Manchester’s President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell.
Recall that Rashford was honoured with the degree July last year, but due to the pandemic, the ceremony and celebration wasn't able to take place until now.
The English international was honoured with the prestigious award because of his ongoing charity work and well-publicised campaign against child poverty off the field, as well as his outstanding sporting achievements on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Marcus is the youngest recipient of an honorary degree in the history of The University of Manchester.
He joins fellow Manchester United club legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton, who have also been honoured by the University in the past.
