Liverpool star Diogo Jota celebrates goal against Southampton with FIFA gesture after he withdraws from FIFA 22 tournament to play at Anfield stadium

Liverpool thrashed Southampton 4-0 at the Anfield stadium on Saturday as the Redsoce one point behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table. 

Diogo Jota scored twice in the first half as Jurgen Klopp side dominated the game from start to finish. 

The Portugal international scored after 97 seconds what is the fastest Premier League goal this season. 

The former Wolverhampton star celebrated his goal with a FIFA celebration gesture then added another goal in the first half. 

It's been gathered that Diogo Jota spent his early hours of the morning playing a competitive FIFA 22 qualifier.

He had to leave the tournament early because he was playing Southampton at 3 p.m. He went to score twice against the Saints before Thiago Alcantara and Virgil Van Dijk added two more goals. 

Diogo Jota had to withdraw from a FIFA 22 international qualifier earlier today - so he could play for Liverpool vs Southampton at Anfield in the Premier League.

The Portugal international was taking part in the tournament ths morning but had to leave in the fourth round when he was slated to play Twitter user @Lyamooo_.

The former Wolves forward informed his opponent he was unable to play.
