AFCON: Trezeguet pays tribute Mohamed Salah for his assist against Morocco

Egypt to a place in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals on Sunday as they came from behind to defeat Morocco 2-1 in extra time in Yaounde.

Sofiane Boufal’s early penalty put Morocco in front but Salah equalised for Egypt early in the second halft.

The Liverpool superstar then set up Mahmoud Trezeguet 10 minutes into extra time to score the winner. The Aston Villa player had replaced Egpytian defender Ahmed Hegazy who was injured at half-time. 

During his goal celebration, Trezeguet paid tribute to Salah for the assist as he placed the Liverpool's star left foot on his knee. 

Egypt will play hosts Cameroon in the semi-finals in Yaounde on Thursday.
