Brazilian club, Atletico Mineiro terminates Diego Costa contract

Former Chelsea striker, Diego Costa’s contract with Atletico Mineiro has been terminated by mutual consent.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed with a tweet on his social media space on Friday January 7th 2022.

Romano Tweeted: “Diego Costa has reached an agreement with Atletico Mineiro to terminate his contract and part ways with immediate effect.

“Former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid striker’s gonna be now available on a free transfer.”

Recall that the ex Chelsea star terminated his deal in December 2020 with Atletico Madrid after winning the La Liga title with Diego Simeone side. 

He signed for Atletico Mineiro on a free transfer in August 2021 where he guided them to lift the Championship title.
