La Liga: Atletico Madrid shares a point with Villarreal after 2-2 scoreline (Highlights) 2021-2022

Two goals in the first half were met with two more in the second, as Alberto Moreno’s finish two minutes before the hour was cancelled out by Kondogbia’s strike from distance just nine minutes later - forcing Atletico Madrid and Villarreal to share the spoils of a 2-2 draw. 

The hosts were no doubt the better side for the majority of the match, controlling the ball with confidence and forcing Atleti to chase shadows despite conceding in stunning fashion to Correa’s goal of the season candidate in the opening stages of the match. 

Simeone’s side to their credit fought throughout the game and took their few chances well - sharing the goals around the pitch and capitalising on the errors of the goalkeeper. Emery's search for a win against Simeone goes on as the draw puts Atletico into fourth, while Villarreal stay eighth.
