Luuk de Jong finally score a goal at the moment his team need. Xavi's broken team took 3 points away from Mallorca.
Luuk De Jong’s header at the 44th minute is all that’s necessary for Barcelona to take the three points, as the Blaugrana come away with a 1-0 victory against Mallorca.
Xavi’s side looked largely comfortable in possession, passing around the host’s press but often struggled when outside of the 18-yard box as a lack of clinical incision kept Barcelona from scoring more.
Mallorca simply did not do enough going forward to challenge Ter Stegen, with the goalkeeper forced into just three saves in a scrappy match that produced 47 fouls.
The loss is the third time in a row Mallorca have been kept goalless at home and it keeps them in 15th. The win puts Barcelona up into fifth - just one point back of a Champions League place at the midway point.
