Bayern Munich faces points deduction after they played with 12 players against Freiburg

Bayern Munich played with 12 players on the pitch  during their 4-1 win over Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

It's been gathered that the error occurred in the 85th minute, with Bayern already 3-1 ahead. A double substitution was made but only one player went off the pitch.

Goals from Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman had put them 3-1 up after Nils Petersen had cancelled out Leon Goretzka's opener. 

Kingsley Coman and Corentin Tolisso were substituted but only one player left the pitch.Marcel Sabitzer, one of those introduced in the double switch, scored Bayern's fourth in the 96th minute.

In the 87th minute, VAR informed the referee of the situation and the game was stopped but it later restarted and eight minutes were added.
