Karim Benzema netted twice from the penalty spot as Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo 2-1 (Highlights) 2021-2022

Real Madrid have moved 12 points clear at the top of the LaLiga Santander table after beating Celta Vigo 2-1 at Balaidos on Saturday evening.

Karim Benzema twice put Los Blancos ahead from the penalty spot, with Nolito having equalised for the hosts early in the second half.

The Los Blancos went ahead after Eder Militao was fouled by Nolito in the area. Benzema then stepped up and coolly converted his penalty.

In the 52nd minute Celta grabbed a well-earned equaliser. Aspas picked out Javi Galan and he then sent a low cross into the area which found Nolito, who fired home from the edge of the six-yard box.

The  Karim Benzema who had missed a penalty earlier in the game got another chance to redeem himself. Ferland Mendy went down under contact from Kevin Vazquez. Benzema stepped up sending his effort into the bottom left corner.
