Chelsea football club have confirmed that the UK government has approved the Todd Boehly-led consortium's takeover of Chelsea.
Clearlake Capital, a California-based investment firm, will be the largest shareholder in the consortium, but Boehly - the part-owner of the LA Dodgers baseball team - will be the controlling owner.
According to reports gathered, the financial transaction will be completed on Monday.
Sharing the announcement on the club's official Instagram page (a chelseafc) few minutes ago. The statement reads:
"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that a final and definitive agreement was entered into last night to sell the Club to the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium. It is expected that the transaction will be completed on Monday. The Club will update further at that time. "
