Inter defeated Juventus 4-2 to win the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night in an enthralling topsy-turvy match, with Ivan Perisic's extra-time brace settling the final at Stadio Olimpico.
The Nerazzurri got off to a great start, with Nicolo Barella unleashing a thunderous effort from outside the box to beat Mattia Perin and put the Nerazzurri ahead just seven minutes in.
Juventus hit the ground running in the second half and they managed to turn the game around in a space of three minutes. Alex Sandro equalised in the 50th minute and Dusan Vlahovic pounced on a rebound to net from close range and give Juventus the lead.
Juventus defended well up to the 79th minute, when Leonardo Bonucci brought down Lautaro Martinez inside the Old Lady's box. Hakan Calhanoglu stepped up and sent the ball into the top right corner with a thunderous effort from the spot to send the game to extra time.
Then in the ninth minute of extra-time, Inter were awarded another spot-kick. This time, Perisic stepped up and guided the ball into the top corner. Then, the same player scored a marvelous goal minutes later, arrowing a left-footed bouncing ball into the top corner to seal the Coppa Italia for his side.
