The former Everton, Manchester United and England star surprised fans of Derby County when he announced his resignation as coach of the club with immediate effect.
Its been gathered that Wayne Rooney decided to quit despite still having one year left on his contract with Derby County who were relegated from the Championship last season.
Rooney will leave football management for a while in order to focus on being with his wife Coleen and their kids.
The former Manchester United star had flown his wife Coleen and their sons Kai, 12, Klay, nine, Kit, six, and Cass, four for holiday abroad.
