Real Madrid star Luka Modric signs new deal

Real Madrid have confirmed that Luka Modric has been handed new contract. The Croatia international was among the most sort after midfielders in Europe.

Modric finished the season with La Liga trophy and UEFA Champions League with the Los Blancos.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star contract with Real Madrid was expected to end this month. But he has decided to pen a year extension.

Modric posed with a home shirt of Real Madrid with 2023 imprinted at the back as he stood beside the club's president Florentino Pérez.

The statement reads: "Real Madrid C. F. and Luka Modrić have reached an agreement to extend the player's contract until 30 June 2023"
