"My wife doesn't even know about my transfer move" - Ex Premier League footballer, Yoshida react to Fabrizio Romano transfer update

33 years old Japanese defender has completed his move to the Bundesliga.

Maya Yoshida is a Japanese footballer who plays as a centre back for Bundesliga club Schalke 04 and captains the Japan national team.

This comes after Italian sport journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Maya Yoshida is set join Schalke 04.

The Japanese centre back has joined on a free transfer. Fabrizio added that former Southampton is expected to fly to Germany tomorrow to undergo medical test.

Fabrizio added that Yoshida turned several offers from other clubs including Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Meanwhile, Yoshida reacted to the transfer gossip revealing that his wife doesn't know about his move to Trabzonspor.

He tweeted: "This guy is incredible… even my wife didn’t know about Trabzonspor"

Yoshida played last season for Serie A team Sampdoria. He previously played for Southampton from 2012-20 in the English Premier League
