Headies Award have confirmed Portable disqualification from the upcoming award.



Fast and rising singer Okikiola Habeeb who is popularly called Portable has been disqualified from the 15th edition of the Headies award.

The Zazu Zeh crooner was nominated for the "best street artist" and "rookie of the year" categories.

The organizers of the hip hop award have announced a statement distancing themselves from the singer.

The statement reads: "Singer @portablebaeby loses @the_headies award nomination following controversy and investigation by the Nigeria Police Force, after allegedly claiming to be affiliated with criminal group “1 million boys”

"According to the award organizers; The music industry demands all-round excellence, and it is extremely important for young artists being potential role models to exude professional responsibility, proper decorum and have respect for others. "
This all started after Portable shared a video of himself stating that he created the criminal group" 1 million boys".

The video generated several criticisms which led to Police calling him for questioning.
