It appears that Timo Werner struggled to settle since arriving Chelsea in 2020 for €50 million from RB Leipzig where he finished top scorer in that season before he made the move to England.
The striker has signed a four years contract with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig as he pen emotional tribute to the fans of Chelsea.
Timo Werner took to his social media space to upload some memorable photos during his spell at Chelsea including his celebration after winning the the UEFA Champions League in his first season at the club.
If you recall that Werner who is 26 years old provided the assist for Kai Havertz to score the only goal as Chelsea defeated Manchester City in UEFA Champions League final in 2021.
Sharing the photos on his verified Instagram page (@timowerner), he captioned:
"Dear Blues,Today marks the end of my journey with @chelseafc. I am incredibly grateful for the time I spent at this special club.
"At this point I would like to express my appreciation for my teammates, the coaches & staff, and especially for you, the special supporters of Chelsea Football Club. I felt so much love and support throughout the last two years and I will never forget how you guys stood behind me in good and in challenging times! We lifted trophies like the Champions League together and I will always remember the song you wrote and chanted for me."
During his spell at Chelsea, Timo Werner scored a total of 12 goals or 15 assists in all competitions.
Despite leaving the club, Timo remained optimistic about making a return to play at Stamford Bridge in the future.
" I’m already looking forward to hopefully playing at Stamford Bridge again one day! 👋See you soon. Timo," he completed.
Chelsea have confirmed the transfer of the Germany striker following a post on their verified microblogging media, Twitter.
