Former Chelsea and Arsenal forward Willian has quit Brazilian team Corinthians after receiving threats of death on social media.
Willian has been criticized by some supporters for his poor performance on the field, after Corinthians was exiled from two crucial tournaments recently despite being in placed second on the Brazilian league.
The winger added: "I did not come to Brazil to be intimidated.
"Whenever Corinthians lost and if sometimes I was not doing well in the game, my family received threats, and curses on social media."
If you remember, Willian was back at his childhood soccer club Corinthians of Brazil after he opted to end his Arsenal contract in 2021.
The former Chelsea player was targetted by fans every time results don't favor the team.
Willian has decided to quit the club, ending his contract and returning to England.
He said: "My wife, my daughters, after a while (they) also started attacking my father, and my sister."
Willian is currently relocating for London with his family.
In addition, recently promoted Premier League side Fulham FC have already spoken to Brazilian international Brazil international.
