FIFA has announced that 2022's Qatar World Cup will now begin an hour earlier than planned, with Qatar playing Ecuador during the opener game on November 20, 20th, on a Sunday.

The first match for the event was scheduled to be played Senegal take on with the Netherlands in the 1st half at 12pm (10am GMT) on Monday November 21. However, that match will now be played between 7pm and 7:45 pm (4pm GMT) on the same day.

A FIFA statement that was released on Thursday stated: "The decision followed an analysis of the event and operational implications, as an extensive consultation process and a deal with key stakeholders as well as the host nation.

"Ticket owners will be informed via email that the games have been rescheduled and that their tickets remain valid regardless of the new time/date.
