Manchester United have announced the final of the three shortlist for their player of the month award.
The Red Devils seems to have recovered from their poor start of the new season.
If you recall that Erik Den Hag suffered back to back defeats against Brighton Hove Albion and Brentford respectively.
But things turned around with 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford before they travelled to St Mary's to beat Southampton 1-0 last week.
Although the recent improvements in the team so far can be credited to the defensive work of Rafael Varane and his partner Lisandro Martinez.
The two centre backs have been nominated for the player of month of August.
Lisandro Martinez, who plays for the national team of Argentina has settled well into the team since he arrived from Ajax this summer transfer.
The defender who can also play in the midfield has been consistent with his performance after a slow start.
While Rafael Varane joined from Real Madrid last season. The French defender hasn't been at his best at Old Trafford due to injuries. But seems he can give Den Hag good performances in coming games.
Finally, Tyrell Malacia also made the final three for the player of the month.
If you remember that Malacia joined Manchester United from Feyenoord this summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has been able to integrate himself at the left back position.
