Southampton came from behind to beat Chelsea in front of their St Mary's fans on Tuesday night. 

Southampton youngster, Lavia was, the star man of the show with his stunning debut goal against Thomas Tuchel side. 


Chelsea's lead in the 22 minutes by Raheem Sterling was cut short after Lavai equalised in the 27 minutes. 


The turn around for Southampton was completed just before half-time when Armstrong scored to make it 2-1. 


Meanwhile Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo has praised his team performance against Chelsea. 

Aribo seems to be settling well into the team since he arrived from Rangers in the ongoing transfer window. 




The Super Eagles of Nigeria star praised youngster Romeo Lavia for his debut goal. 


He tweeted: "Solid team performance today! Support was electric 🔥🔥🔥.. congrats lil bro @RomeoLavia" 


The 18 years old Belgium youngster joined Southampton signing a five-year contract from Manchester City. 

Romeo Lavia, who is a youth product of the Belgian club Anderlecht moved to England in 2020 to join Manchester City. 




The midfielder grew through the ranks of Manchester City before he made his debut at 17 years old on 21 September 2021, at the third round of the 2021–22 EFL Cup against Wycombe Wanderers.

Expressing his excitement on social media, he captioned: "A dream come true, what a way to get my first @premierleague
 goal, an even sweeter moment to get the win & 3 points."
