Barcelona players were spotted giving their youngster Gavi a guard of honour to mark his contract extension.

The 18 years old is one the brightest talents from the Barcelona academy, La Masia.

Gavi put pen to paper on a long term deal with improved salary as Barcelona hoped to discourage possible suitors from convincing the midfielder.

Reportminds Blog understands that Gavi signed new deal that will keep him until 2026 at Barcelona with a release clause of €1billion.

The 18 Spanish midfielder was seen posing with the Barcelona home shirt with "2026" imprinted at the back.

In another post, he smiled while wearing his corporate outfit posing with Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

Gavi whose full name is Pablo Martín Páez Gavira made his debut for Barcelona in  their 2–1 La Liga win over Getafe, replacing Sergi Roberto in the 73rd minute in August 2021.

The youngster is expected to feature in the midfield when Barcelona host Elche this weekend in League.
