Goals from Marquinhos and Eddie Nketiah ensured that Arsenal secured 2-1 win over FC Zurich in their opening group game.
Mikel Arteta side needed to show their quality after Eddie Nketiah conceded a penalty shortly after Marquinhos scored on his debut.
19 years old Marquinhos was handed his debut in the Arsenal shirt. The Brazilian played a key role in their victory over the Swiss champions.
Arsenal opened the scoring when the pair combined on the counter, with Marquinhos latching onto Nketiah’s low cross and shooting the ball into the top corner.
Just before half time, Zurich equalised after Kryeziu’s first half penalty.
But then Marquinhos and Nketiah combined again in the second half, with the Englishman heading in the debutant's cross, giving Arsenal the lead.
