The towering defender has called it quit with the round leather game at age 33.
Badstuber made his debut in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich in the 2009–10 season, at the age of 19.
The German international helped the Bayern win the league and cup double and reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2010.

“Dear fans… after 13 years of professional football, I announce the end of my career as an active player,” Badstuber announced in a statement.
“With 31 senior games for Germany, with World Cup and European Championship participations, six German championships, four DFB Cup victories, winning the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and three national Super Cups, I can look back on a successful time. "
