Former Manchester United star Patrice Evra has revealed regrets playing for France national team instead of Senegal.
Patrice Evra who is now 41-year-old, was formerly a professional footballer who played as left back.
The Ex France international played for the Les Blues from 2004 until 2016 with 81 caps to his name.
EVRA REVEALS INTERNATIONAL CAREER REGRET
Evra made this revelation during a visit to Ghana where he met President Nana Akufo-Addo.
He said that whenever the team wins, everyone is happy but when results don't go in their favour, critics refer to him as a Senegalese.
As quoted by Goal, He told RMC: "If I could go back, I would choose to represent my home country, Senegal, instead of FRANCE. I was born in Dakar but grew up in France.
"One of the painful lessons I learnt with this choice is when you play good and win, you are celebrated as a French; when the team lose, you are singled out as Senegalese."
PATRICE EVRA FRANCE CAREER...
Patrice Evra participated in five major international tournaments for France which included the 2008, 2012 and 2016 UEFA European Championship.
The Ex Juventus and Marseille defender emerged runners-up medal at Euro 2016; and both the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
