Barcelona thrashed Villarreal 3-0 as Xavi Hernandez side bounced back from their disappointing result against Real Madrid in the El Clasico.
The Blaugrana scored all three goals in the first half as Robert Lewandowski netted his brace under three minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, Ansu Fati grabbed th third as he started the game after Xavi Hernandez decided to make several chances in th squad after 3-1 loss to Madrid last week.
Lewandowski opens Barcelona goal account in the 31 minutes
Robert Lewandowski scored his 10th goal of the season after 11 games. The 33-year-old has been enjoying every moment of his spell at Barcelona since arriving this summer.
The goal came after Pedri’s ball down the left was crossed first time by Jordi Alba to Lewandowski who had his back to goal but with a brilliant first touch sent defenders Raul Albiol and Pau Torres sliding past him and left himself facing front to shoot past Gero Rulli.
Lewandowski made it 2-0 to Barcelona
Four minutes later, Lewandowski had added his second. Pedri won the ball back in midfield and played it to Gavi who bustled forward releasing Lewandowski who curled his shot from the edge of the area past Rulli.
Barcelona got the third
Fati scored the third goal in the 38 minutes. The goal came after Frenkie De Jong, started the move combining with Lewandowski. Ferran Torres slid it across the face of the six-yard box to the 19-year-old and although his first shot hit the post he flicked in from the rebound.
