AC Milan win takes the Rossoneri seven points clear of their visitors, and sees them bounce back immediately from Champions League disappointment. 

The Scudetto-holders demonstrated all the resolve that helped them become champions in May, as they overcame a long list of absentees to ultimately dominate a dreary Old Lady. 

While Juventus had more of the ball, they failed to make much of it without the suspended Di Maria's creative input, and they now sink further towards mid-table obscurity.

While both sides now meet the same Champions League opponents for a second week running - Milan host Chelsea; Juventus travel to Haifa - the Rossoneri will fancy their chances of beating Verona next time out in Serie A, but ailing Juve must tackle a tricky Turin derby.
