Manchester United boss Erik Den Hag has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo refused to come on a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.


The Red Devils recorded 2-0 at the Old Trafford stadium in their mid week Premier League clash.

Second half goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes ensured that United moved into fifth position in the Premier League table.


Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo who wasn't used in the game was seen walking into the tunnel before the half time whistle.

Fans of Manchester United have label the act as disrespect to the club, which Manchester United have been forced to respond. 

Erik Den Hag has revealed that Manchester United will not play in their weekend Premier League game against Chelsea. 

While speaking to the press ahead of the game, Erik Den Hag said that Ronaldo refused to play as a substitute.

Red Devils travel to the Stamford Bridge on Saturday in the evening clash.

"There has to be consequences. It is important for the attitude and mentality of the group," he added.
