Alphonso Davies, who is 22 years old, was impressive in the game, which was a continuation of his excellent run of form during their campaign at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Bayern Munich led his national team to the FIFA World Cup 2022 for the first time and has given a good account of himself.

He had led Canada to their first men's World Cup and scored their first goal in the competition with a powerful header that was also the fastest goal of the tournament so far in this edition.

Despite scoring first in the game, Canada lost the game by four goals to one, which was disappointing.

However, Alphonso Davies was able to put his name in the book of history by scoring against Croatia although they ended losing the game.

The Croatian team scored four goals, including a stunning brace from Andrej Kramaric, goals from Marko Livaja and Lovro Majer, and Alphonso Davies' opening goal for Canada, which made the score four goals to one at halftime.

It's been gathered that Alphonso Davies was born in a Ghana refugee camp in 2000. Meanwhile his family fled to Canada during the Liberian Civil War.

The Bayern Munich full back performance caught attention of FIFA who have responded with a verified Twitter post that included a caption that described Alphonso Davies' journey from being born in a refugee camp to scoring his nation's first ever goal at a men's World Cup.

The caption was followed by the statement that he has written his name in history.
